Students in Studio II developed their observational drawing skills by drawing someone who is influential to their lives. First, students learned to draw a gesture line to lay their figure out on the page, then created structure with simple shapes and finished with rendering varying values on their subject’s clothes and body to show texture, depth and form. They included a quote in their composition to make the figure more identifiable and to add context to their work.
